- Foundation exceeds 300 grants worth a total of almost $1,500,000.  Grants to World Hunger Year (WHY) top $300,000.  Total grants to WHY's Harry Chapin Self-Reliance Award program reach almost $290,000. Donations by family and friends top $500,000.

- Jonathan Greengrass, Bill Hornung, and David Miller join board.

Recent Grant Recipients
              
- Michigan Land Institute in Beulah, Michigan awarded $8,000 to link small farmers to local stores, restaurants and farmers markets that will sell their produce and products.

- Baystreet Theatre in Sag Harbor, New York awarded $4,000 to support Young Playwrights Program. 

- Work Options for Women in Denver, Colorado awarded $5,000 to support the Culinary Arts Program for disadvantaged single women who want to work in the food service industry.

- Neighbors Link in Mount Kisco, New York awarded $3,000 to support a job bank coordinator for new immigrants.
